Vernon Parish Arrest Report 10/31/2008

The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department reported six arrests over the last 24 hours:

Anthony S. Doyle, white male, 20, was arrested on charges of bench warrant failure to appear by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Michael McClintock, white male, 19, was arrested on charges of simple burglary, theft 0/$500 by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Gregory L. Johnson, black male, 45, was arrested on charges of distribution of crack cocaine by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Dena L. Christy, was arrested on charges of bench warrant failure to appear by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  She remains in jail.

Larry Cockrell, white male, was arrested on charges of simple battery by Rosepine Police Department.  He remains in jail.

Bobby Leonard, white male, 30, was arrested on charges of simple battery by Rosepine Police Department.  He remains in jail.

Sabine Parish Arrest Report 10/31/2008

The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department reported three arrests over the last 24 hours:

Richard Horton, black male, 41, was arrested on charges of bench warrant from Lafayette by Many Police Department.  He remains in jail.

Leroan Williams, black male, 25, was arrested on charges of bench warrant by Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Aaron Ramsey, white male, 25, was arrested on charges of probation violation by Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

There are currently 142 inmates being housed at the Sabine Parish Detention Center.

The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department reported four arrests over the last 24 hours:

Mikael James Chapman, whtie male, 19, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and contributing to the deliquency of a juvenile by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department. He bonded.

Marty Self Jr., white male, 20, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and contributing to the deliquency of juveniles by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department. He bonded.

Melissa Jenkins, white female, was arrested on charges of probation violation by Probation and Parole. She remains in jail.

Joshua Walker, white male, 19, was arrested on charges of contributing to the deliquency of juveniles by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department. He remains in jail.

Obituary 10/30/2008

Magleine Rains, 92, passed away on October 29th at Green Meadow Haven. Visistation is October 30th at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many starting at 5pm. Services are 10am at October 31st at Spring Ridge Baptist Church with burial to follow at Spring Ridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Rains is survived by daughters: Mary Lightfoot and husband Jack, Shirely Murphy, and Peggy Bonsail; sons: Bob Blankenship and wife Marie, Tommy Neal and wife Cindy, John Neal and wife Robin; sister, N.C. Brian; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Arrangements are being handled by Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

Joshua Greene, white male, 31, was arrested on charges of simple criminal damage to property by Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

There are currently 142 inmates being housed at the Sabine Parish Detention Center.

Billy Bowman II, white male, 39, was arrested on charges of warrants by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Joshua Walker, white male, 19, was arrested on charges of simple rape by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Kelly J. Mulley Jr., white male, was arrested on charges of DWI 1st, open container, and speeding 80/55 by Rosepine Police Department.  He bonded.

Naomi Marie Meshell Alexander, 64, of Zwolle passed away on October 27th.  Services are October 29th at 1:30pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at Old St. Joseph Cemetery.  She is survived by father, Hosea Meshell; mother, Zula Parrie; sons:  Aaron Meshell, Lee Alexander, and Jason Alexander; six sisters, and five brothers.  Arrangements are being handled by Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
