Dahlia Vines, 89, of Zwolle passed away on March 29th at Schumpert Highland Medical Center.  Visitation is March 31st at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Zwolle starting at 5pm.  Services are April 1st at 10am at Memorial Baptist Church with burial to follow at Myrtle Springs Cemetery in Geneva, TX.  She is survived by daughters:  Earlie Boyd, Ione Partschker, Marie Salter, Fayrine Underwood; son, Wilson Vines, Jr.; sisters:  Mildred Remedies and Velda Sterling; brother, Howard Campbell; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.  Arragements are being handled by Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department reported two arrests over the last 24 hours:

Davi Soaman Jr., white male, 31, was arrested on charges DWI 2nd, careless operation, suspended drivers license, and seatbelt violation by Louisiana State Police.  He remains in jail.

Henry Gilmore, black male, 27, was arrested on charges of possession of crack cocaine and possession of marijuana by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Sabine Parish Arrest Report 3/31/2009

The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department reported two arrests over the last 24 hours:

Cynthia Ann Maxey, white female, 45, was arrested on charges of parole violation by Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department.  She remains in jail.

Robert William Lacast, white male, 29, was arrested on charges of bench warrant by Zwolle Police Department.  He bonded.

There are currently 120 inmates being housed at the Sabine Parish Detention Center.

The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department reported ten arrests over the last 72 hours:

Darrell E. Lyons, white male, 41, was arrested on charges of DWI 3rd, careless operation, and  ignition enterlock required by Louisiana State Police.  He bonded.

Juan A. Razo, hispanic male, 25, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, manufactured cultivation, and possession of drug paraphenalia by Rosepine Police Department.  He remains in jail.

Dr. Samuel C. Summer, Jr.,MD, white male, 70, was arrested on charges of DWI 1st by Louisiana State Police.  He bonded.

Lavelle Howell, black male, 20, was arrested on charges of DWI 1st and improper lane usage by Louisiana State Police.  He bonded.

Justin Anding, white male, 27, was arrested on charges of warrat by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He bonded.

Janeia Beach, white female, 31, was arrested on charges of forgery by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  She remains in jail.

Douglas W. Hunt, black male, 49, was arrested on charges of careless operation and DWI 4th by Louisiana State Police.  He remains in jail.

Azonzo J. Thibodeaux, black male, 23, was arrested on charges of careless operation and DWI 1st by Louisiana State Police.  He remains in jail.

Bryan Kurt Bitiste, black male, was arrested on charges of improper lane usage,  DUS, and possession of ecstasy with intent by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Leonard H. Brooks, black male, 21, was arrested on charges of speeding, no drivers license,and DWI 1st by New Llano Police Department.  He remains in jail.

Ottis Gilmer Arthur, 86, of Converse passed away on March 28th at his residence.  Visitation is April 1st at Warren Meadows Funeral Home starting at 5pm.  Services are April 2nd at 2pm at Warren Meadows Funeral Home with burial to follow ar Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Florien.  He is survived by his wife, Jean Arthur; sons:  Larry Arthur and wife Alice, Mike Arthur and wife Cherri, and Greg Arthur; step-daughters:  Anita Barnhill and husband David, Vickie Mizell and husband Don, and Karen O’Banion and husband Randy; sister, Pauline Stringer; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.  Arrangements are being handled by Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department reported seven arrests over the last 72 hours:

Cloteal Montgomery, black female, 21, was arrested on charges of simple criminal damage to property, aggravated battery, unauthorized entry inhabited dwelling by Pleasant Hill Police Department.  She remains in jail.

Benny C. Kimbrough, black male, 27, was arrested on charges of attempted armed robbery by Zwolle Police Department.  He remains in jail.

Terrence Bolton, black male, 20, was arrested on charges of attempted armed robbery by Zwolle Police Department.  He remains in jail.

Rodney D. Lewing, white male, 47, was arrested on charges of DWI 1st and careless operation by Louisiana State Police.  He bonded.

Robert R. Rivers, white male, 39, was arrested on charges of bond revocation by Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Delmer D. Mitchell, white male, 49, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with firearm and illegal use of a firearm by Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

Benny C. Kimbrough, black male, 27, was arrested on charges of surrender of bond by Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department.  He remains in jail.

There are currently 113 inmates being housed at the Sabine Parish Detention Center.

Skylar C. White, white male, 18, was arrested on charges of warrant by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department. He remains in jail.

David L. Destephang, white male, 55, was arrested on charges of pornography involving juveniles by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department. He bonded.

Jerry L. Eaves,white male, 28, was arrested on charges of warrant by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department. He remains in jail.

Jacob Reid Phillips, white male, 19, was arrested on charges of warrant by Vernon Parish Sheriff’ Department. He remains in jail.

Robert R. Davis, white male, 25, was arrested on charges of theft over $500 by Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department He remains in jail.

Ethel Mardell Shanks, 88, of Many passed away on March 25th at Sabine Medical Center. Visitation is March 27th starting at 5pm at Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Services are March 28th at 11am in the Lewing Chapel with burial to follow at Pine Knott Cemetery in Many. She is survived by daughters: Shirley Lewing and husband Doyle, Verna Hammons, and Claudia Carver and husband Earl; sons: Paul Shanks, Earl Shanks and wife Sang, Darrell Shanks and wife Barbara; sisters: Emma Patton and Leona Boren; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Arrangments are being handled by Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

Lester Carhee, Sr., 83, of Many passed away on March 22nd. Services are March 28th at 11am at Lone Star Baptist Church with burial to follow at Monk Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Jenkins Funeral Home.
