Rosepine man arrested for indecent behavior with juveniles
May 7, 2012
On May 3, 2012, detectives with the Lake Charles field office of the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations executed a search warrant at the residence of 34-year-old Shaun Mueller of Rosepine, LA in Vernon Parish. The warrant was the result of an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation initiated earlier this year.
An examination of a laptop computer at Mueller’s residence revealed the presence of images of sexually exploited children. In an interview with state police detectives, Mueller admitted to downloading child pornography and to committing lewd and lascivious acts on a juvenile.
Mueller was arrested for pornography involving juveniles as well as indecent behavior with juveniles. Mueller was booked into the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail. His bond was set at $35,000.
The investigation is continuing and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations will join the investigation.
The purpose of ICAC investigations is to rescue children from the potential abuse of child predators by targeting those individuals with sexually explicit images and/or videos on their computers. The Louisiana State Police will continue our efforts to safeguard children whenever possible in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.
